Nepal Earthquake Response 2023

 

First batch of winterization and shelter kit to the earthquake affected households of Jajarkot district has beed distributed in Chhedagad municipality and Kuse rural municipality last week. LWF Nepal with the support of Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS), Kerk in Actie (KiA) and UNHCR  is distributing emergency shelter kits and winterization items to 3,750 earthquake survivors in Jajarkot and Bajhang districts of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. The emergency shelter kit and winterization item includes, 1,885 blankets, 1,635 PVC mattress, 1,210 woolen shawl (wrapper), 2,420 woolen caps, 1,210 tarpaulin sheets and 40 assistive devices of various types. LWF Nepal provincial and local implementing partner Rastriya Mukta Haliya Samaj Federation Nepal (RHMSFN) team organizing distribution in close coordination and colloboration with District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) and respective municipalities. Freed haliya, dalit and marginalized households having children, elderly, pregnant and lactating mothers, chronically ill and people with disabilities have been given due priority while distributing relief materials.
