LWF Alleviates Suffering of Flood-hit People in Morang Nepal

A local leader hands over relief materials to flood-hit families in Rangeli, Morang. LWF Nepal distributed relief in coordination with District Disaster Relief Committee and local government agencies.

 

Kathmandu, 23 August 2017 - The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Nepal alleviated the suffering of some families in Morang by distributing relief materials to 45 flood-hit households on Tuesday. Earlier, it had provided relief materials to 106 flood-affected families in the district.

The team gave away relief materials to 43 families in Dhanpalthan Rural Municipality (RM) on Tuesday 63 households in the same RM on Sunday. On Sunday, it also provided food and non-food items to 43 flood-affected families in Rangeli Municipality. The relief includes kitchen utensils, food and non-food items.

Ganga Murmu, a flood-affected woman in Rangeli, Morang said that LWF was the first organization that reached her village with relief materials. LWF Nepal has been providing relief to Jhapa and Morang districts in the eastern part and Kailali district in the western part of Nepal.
